Women make up just over half the U.S. population, according to the U.S. Census, and more than 80 million women are above the age of 40, equaling to millions of mammograms performed every year. Mammograms, ultrasounds, MRIs and other imaging services are critical for the early detection and diagnosis of breast cancer and other breast issues, and having advanced equipment helps increase accuracy and makes for a smoother process for both the patient and radiologist.
Led by a registered nurse, the sessions are available in both English and Spanish.
The practices mark the expansion of STHS Clinics into Palmhurst and are the first of such specialties in the city.

During his trek around the world, Santa Claus made it a point to stop by South Texas Health System Children’s to help spread some much needed holiday cheer to the good little boys and girls in the hospital’s care. On Christmas Day, Santa went room by room to surprise patients and their families with gifts he brought all the way down from the North Pole, along with the thousands of toys donated to the hospital by his elves in the Rio Grande Valley.
