Application Process
Our Emergency Medicine Residency Program offers 10 positions for a categorical three-year training track. Applicants must be either a United States citizen or permanent resident to be eligible for the program. We currently do not sponsor any visas.

- Curriculum vitae
- Medical school transcripts
- Dean’s Letter of Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE)
- A minimum of three Letters of Recommendation (Note: One Letter of Recommendation should be submitted from an internal medicine physician or primary care provider)
- Personal statement
- Photograph
- United States Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) and/or Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Licensing Exam (COMLEX) transcripts, as applicable
- If any required documents are in a language other than English, an English translation of the document must be provided
Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a graduate of medical school in the United States and Canada accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA)
- Be a graduate of an international medical school and have a currently valid Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certificate
- Be eligible for the Physician-in-Training (PIT) Permit in Texas; more information available at the Texas Medical Board (TMB)
- Passing score of each of the USMLE or COMLEX within three attempts
- Passing all licensing examination steps within 7 years
- Must be eligible for employment in the United States
