To share hope during this pandemic, South Texas Health System McAllen and South Texas Health System Edinburg invited local first responders for a flag-raising amidst lights, sirens and the singing of the National Anthem.

The events showcased the unity between patients, staff and first responders to get past these trying times. Fire trucks and other first response vehicles parked in the front lot of the hospital and the American flag was raised by an engine ladder. Patients were able to view the action from their windows.

Also held was the "Lights of Hope" event, a tribute to healthcare workers, law enforcement and first responders on the front lines. First responders throughout the valley met at Edinburg Regional Medical Center and drove around the hospital campus with lights flashing and sirens blaring to show their appreciation to all healthcare workers during this pandemic.
