STHS Employee Assistance Program for Employers

South Texas Health System has announced it will offer an employee assistance program (EAP) to local employers. The South Texas Health System Stronger Together EAP is scheduled to launch in January 2020.

The EAP design will offer a customized plan to meet the needs of local organizations. For participating employers, the EAP will offer counseling services for employees and their families. Services will be provided in a confidential, safe environment to ensure employees feel comfortable and engaged. These services may include the following interventions:

  • Individual, couple or family counseling services
  • Mental wellness apps
  • Career counseling and assessment
  • Substance use assessments
  • Access to licensed counselors
  • Crisis intervention management

Counseling programs for adults and their children can be tailored to help lower absenteeism rates, improve employees’ distress and increase quality of life.
