As the designated lead Trauma Center for Hidalgo County, the emergency department is ready 24 hours a day, seven days a week for patients who need immediate emergency surgery, including trauma, orthopedic or neurological procedures. The department cares for more than 30,000 patients each year, including those who have serious injuries.
