Travel Assistance

We will assist you with your travel arrangements to a South Texas Health System hospital, including making arrangements with a travel agent, hotel reservations, and transportation from the airport.

Visa Assistance
We will provide the necessary letters to the United States Embassy in your country to assist you in obtaining a visa for medical treatment in the United States.

Travel Agent
We have a special arrangement with a travel agent who will plan your entire travel itinerary for you, including airfare, hotel accomodations, and ground transportation.

Hotels
We recommend you stay in a hotel in close proximity to the hospital. We have established special rates with a number of area hotels for our international patients and families. We can help you find a hotel within your budget whether it be deluxe, moderate, or economy accommodations.

Air Transportation
The closest airport for domestic and international flights is McAllen International Airport.

Ground Transportation
Car service to and from the airport, as well as daily services while staying in the area can be arranged for you. Once you are settled into your hotel, the hospital and outpatient physician offices are easily accessible by taxi, subway, and in some cases by foot. Upon your departure, we can assist in arranging transportation back to the airport.

Language Interpretation
Please let us know if you will need a language interpreter during your stay. We can arrange for an interpreter at the time of your appointment to assist in communication with the doctors and nurses. You may choose for a family member or friend to assist as an interpreter during your stay. Interpreters are available in more than 20 languages.
