Inpatient Rehabilitation at Edinburg

Programs and Services:

Community reintegration training
Getting you back to the normal activities of your daily life is our top priority and the focus of our rehabilitation efforts. Part of that is community reintegration training that includes trips to local shopping centers, restaurants, exhibits and other activities. Our goal is to help you gain confidence and independence as you prepare for discharge.

Support groups
Support groups at Edinburg Regional Rehab Center provide helpful information and resources related to the rehabilitation process. Groups are available for stroke survivors, amputees and people with arthritis.

The support groups offer an open forum where you and your family members can discuss your fears and anxieties, pains and frustrations, achievements and successes with other people in similar circumstances.

Dining program
You can participate in the dining experience in our special dining area. Meals are served daily in the dining room, and you’ll be able to select your meals based on recommendations from a dietician.

Therapeutic Recreation
Outdoor activities and recreation have recognized therapeutic benefits. A Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist evaluates each patient’s needs and abilities. The specialist plans supervised activities for patients at the Edinburg Regional Rehab Center.

Pediatric rehabilitation
Our unique children’s gym and specially-trained staff help provide children with individualized rehabilitative care that is age appropriate.

We are the only rehabilitative care facility in the region for children and adolescents. Our pediatric plans are specially designed for each child we work with.

Commitment to Quality

Rehab Team
At Edinburg Regional Rehab Center we’re committed to top quality care. Our program was the first inpatient program in the Rio Grande Valley that has earned and continues to earn voluntary accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), which sets standards for quality rehabilitation programs and services.

Edinburg Regional Rehab Center is accredited by The Joint Commission as a component of Edinburg Regional Medical Center.

Patient focus
Patient satisfaction is important to us. From the environment to personnel training, the center is designed to meet the needs of patients with disabilities, as well as their families. Our comprehensive rehabilitation program not only addresses your physical goals, it is designed to also meet your emotional, psychological, social, spiritual and vocational needs.

Referrals and Admissions

Edinburg Regional Rehab Center accepts referrals from physicians, social workers, nurses, therapists, discharge planners and case managers, as well as self-referrals from patients and their families.

A nurse liaison will conduct an evaluation to assess your rehabilitation needs.

If the evaluation indicates that inpatient rehabilitation is best for you, we’ll work to make the admission process easy and comfortable.

We begin by developing a treatment plan and establishing a tentative discharge date, and we keep everyone involved with your care informed of your current status and discharge plans.

Edinburg Regional Rehab Center accepts most major third-party insurance plans and can make special arrangements for private payers. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, age, sex, religion, national origin or disabling condition.
