At Cornerstone Regional Hospital we believe in establishing caring and professional relationships with our patients and their families. We encourage family interaction with physicians and staff in our family-oriented, homelike environment.

Cornerstone Regional Hospital is licensed by the state of Texas and accredited by The Joint Commission. We are designed to serve patients with general medical and surgical care. CRH does not provide services to patients needing obstetrics, telemetry or intensive care.

History

In 1998, a group of physicians on a mission to offer their community a higher level of healthcare services, founded and opened an acute care hospital with an emphasis on orthopedics and general surgery. Since then, CRH has become more diversified—offering more services and specialties.

In August 2005, the physician owners of Cornerstone Regional Hospital decided to become a part of the largest healthcare system in the Rio Grande Valley, South Texas Health System. Through this partnership, CRH benefited from a support system that has access to managed care health plans, group purchasing contracts, and the ability to coordinate care for patients requiring services beyond CRH’s immediate scope of practice.

In December 2006, the Surgical Center of South Texas joined Cornerstone Regional Hospital. Their combined services promote the opportunity for growth of CRH in the community. The hospital has become more competitive and has added other specialties, advanced equipment, and additional insurance carriers.

Through ongoing physician leadership and a dedicated, well-trained staff, Cornerstone Regional Hospital has achieved excellent clinical outcomes in its continuing quest to provide high quality patient care.
