Childbirth Education Classes

Mothers- and fathers-to-be can ease those first time jitters, or get a refresher course about the ways your little one may come into the world! This class explores how the body changes during pregnancy and the stages of labor and delivery, as well as postpartum care. The basics of breastfeeding will also be discussed, and parents-to-be will be able to take a tour of the Birthing Center of South Texas, located on the third floor of McAllen Medical Center.

Weight Loss Surgery Post Op Nutrition Class

The Weight Loss Surgery Center offers a Post Op Nutrition Class for patients who have just had weight loss surgery.  The class offers information on your new diet, vitamin intake, and general information about life after weight loss surgery, including support group attendance and long term follow up with your surgeon.

Saferiders Car Seat Classes

Parents and caregivers can learn how to properly install a car seat for a baby, toddler or infant during this FREE class that is available in English and Spanish. The class will also cover laws and regulations regarding child safety in vehicles. Qualifying families will each receive a car seat (limit one per family).
