MCALLEN, Texas (July 23, 2008) — We are faced with the wrath of nature in the Rio Grande Valley today. Hurricane Dolly, a category 1 hurricane is moving westward across the area with maximum sustained winds of 95 miles per hour. The eye of the hurricane should be over McAllen sometime between 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm today.
With the threat of strong winds and heavy rain, South Texas Health System has taken important steps in safeguarding our patients, staff and hospital properties.
